Living Spaces explores the repetitive macro noise profile and the hidden micro details embedded inside the average urban soundscape. McDonald’s and Other Noises finds beauty in a siren, a cash register at McDonald’s and a construction truck backing up. Geophonia aggressively questions the natural sound of water modulated by the man-made enclosures in beaches and sewers. The Body is unpredictable ode to improvisation and taking up acoustic space. In Landscape Traveller, regardless of how fast the wheels are heard turning, our protagonist stays stuck in the same spot while Mahler’s 8th symphony weaves in and out. Maps is a collage of field recordings gathered over the years, moving forward and backward in fragments of saved time.
