Title : Frog and Toad Chorus Timelapse
Artist : Colin Hunter
Location : Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda
Date : 11 Nov 2015
Recording Equipment : Sound Devices 722 + DPA 4060ST (stereo AB config)
This soundscape features a frog and toad chorus recorded at three separate times of the day at the same location in Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park. The dominant voices are those of the Guttural Toad, the Rocket Frog, the Running Frog and the Spiny Reed Frog. The first part of the recording was recorded early in the morning, with only a few dozen of the amphibians vocalising. The second part of the soundscape was recorded at night just after a huge thunder storm had passed overhead. The third part was recorded much later that night, with additional species joining the chorus.
