"Submerged Memories" is a sound art project that explores the contrast between the peace and quiet of nature by the sea and the crowded and lively city environment in Dubrovnik. This project uses field recordings from different parts of Dubrovnik to create a unique sound experience that will take listeners on a journey through different aspects of the city.

The first part of the recording was recorded by the sea and under the surface of the sea with a hydrophone in the Lapad district. Listeners will be immersed in the soothing sounds of waves and underwater creatures, allowing them to experience the silence that exists beneath the surface.

The second and longer part of the recording explores the crowd and energy in the city center of Dubrovnik, City walls, Onofrio's fountain, tourists and locals create noise and murmur. The characteristic atmosphere of this part of the city will be revived through recordings filled with the sounds of footsteps, conversations and city bustle.

The goal is to emphasize the contrast between the natural silence by the sea and the lively city noise. The project encourages listeners to think about the impact of tourism on the city environment and to explore the beauty and peace of nature which is often neglected due to the hustle and bustle.
